The Articles I Never Read

Pocket was announced to be shut down in May 2025.

I never bothered exporting my data. I realised over time that I was not actively reading the articles. Instead, I am still trying to get into the habit of “read it as soon as possible”, as opposed to letting an article marinate in yet another application.

Now, I’m trying to use Obsidian as a second brain. Whenever I come across an interesting article that requires me to note something (like how I highlighted on Pocket), I’ll write it down in an Obsidian Markdown file.

I just remembered that I voiced out on Facebook during my university days that I wanted to create a Bring Your Own Storage read-it-later service. That way, one can maintain their own longevity of their articles.

I never got to it.

Till then, read-it-later services.

Maybe I should have stuck with Instapaper instead of switching over to Pocket. Maybe.
